Book Condition   2 Vols [19.5 x 12 cms], mid 19thC[?] hard-grain calf/morocco gilt in very elegant Regency style, a.e.g. With portrait + 3 large folding plates [linen-backed] + 30 other plates, total c.pp638. Endpaper with simple 18thC armorial bookplate of Sir Henry Hunloke of Wingerworth, Derbyshire, and a small calligraphic modern booklabel. Text & engravings exceptionally clean & crisp, a very fine copy in a handsome Regency-style binding.

Last French Edition of the classic French work on horsemanship. First published in 1731 in two small-format 16mo vols : in 1736 the first 8vo Edition was issued : and in its 1733 Folio Edition it is considered one of the most beautiful French books on the horse.
