Four of the illustrations in this book show coin-like seals and medals. Hill is particularly known for his work on Renaissance medals, and in particular on the Italian 14th century artist Pisanello. Hill's elegant bookplate here incorporates a Pisanello-style medal or rondel with the words Opus Pisani Pictoris.
